Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery is delighted to present the exhibition titled "An Italian painting. Casorati De Pisis Sironi, " dedicated to three Italian artists who have marked the international painting scene.
Eighteen works that highlight different subjects, from the still lifes by Felice Casorati (1883-1963) with Piedi di gesso (Feet of gypsum)(1940)and Uova e limoni (Eggs and lemons)(1959) to the ones by Filippo De Pisis (1896-1956) with Vaso di fiori con pappagallo ( Flowerpot with Parrot) (1928) and Omaggio a Morandi (Tribute to Morandi) (1940). All’osteria (At the inn) and Giocatori di carte(Card players) , both dated 1930, represent the interiors painted by Mario Sironi (1885-1961). Casorati’ s painting, in some ways, shows a complementarity between purity and enigma, while a refined poetic climate permeates De Pisis’ work, especially when he immortalizes the cities where he lived , for example in Strada di città (City street) 1935, it appears obvious a reference to London. Sironi is the most "modern" Italian artist of the Twentieth century , he used painting as a means of knowledge. Three artists with different pictorial characteristics, but joined by having left their mark in the history of art, using painting as an expression of their time. Casorati, De Pisis and Sironi are and represent the Italian painting.
