The Gallery Opere Scelte inaugurates on Tuesday, October 28 at 18, "I took all the coffee without you", a Francesco Vaccaro exhibition curated by Olga Gambari.
The exhibition with new works by Francesco Vaccaro, is a narrative sensitive, subtle and evocative of the life and memory. Memories are relived / rethought through photographs, notes, receipts relating to that particular moment they become the fate of relics to analyze, scrutinize and rework to capture its very essence. It is a quest that brings out the details of lesser importance and nuances go unnoticed or evidence too obvious to be picked up at the time and that overall reshape the past.
For example, in the work of the Some Things childhood photos have been examined, with morbid attention and poetic devotion, and then broken down by highlighting the different points of view or parallel worlds that sometimes even very close meet. Each character becomes protagonist with an emotionally-introspective obviously unique and distinctive. The work on display as part of the one made in 2006 and presented at the International Photography Festival of Rome, rethought and adapted for the gallery Selected Works.
The stories are also experienced as expectation and projection timeless and work all the coffee that I took without you Vaccaro freezes daily life, also made of mechanical repetitions like drinking coffee through receipts that preserves and enriches every time considerately then of thoughts, sights and sounds. Just like the memories, receipts fade over time, but the artist does not allow it: giving receipts indelibly in the field, capturing images and words representing them to the viewer as an absorbing concatenation of fragments of life waiting to be revived by someone else.
