The 10th edition of Paratissima will take place from November 5th-9th, 2014 Torino Esposizioni, corso Massimo D’Azeglio, 15b.
Paratissima is an international art and culture event realised outside of the institutional contemporary art scene. Painters, photographers, designers, fashion designers, videographers and all artists alike are welcome at Paratissima.
In 2013, Paratissima registered 119.510 visitors and the participation of 606 artists during the five days of the event. The initiative promoted 58 artistic projects and animated the city with more than 100 music initiatives.
Since 2012, Paratissima is known for being the most visited event related to contemporary art, at national level in Italy Paratissima targets everyone, but its special aim is to support and promote the young, non-established authors, while in the same time it also presents established artists by offering them a new context and space for collaboration in a dynamic and energetic atmosphere.
The main sections of Paratissima are: ParaPhotò, ParaDesign, ParaVideo, ParaFuture and ParaFashion.
The event is enriched with special projects provided by Paratissima in collaboration with various companies and associations, projects considered particular for their quality and significance as well as exhibitions that host internationally renowned artists.
Educational areas, laboratories and workshops are taking on a key role in the event in order to trigger an active participation, a connection between the public and young artists during the five days of event.
Artists’ exhibitions, shows and performances have as a common objective interaction between environment and society- just one of the particularities of Paratissima.
All this is thanks to the informal, welcoming and open-minded environment that Paratissima has towards new projects with a different perspective on all forms of social-cultural art.
