From October 9 to November 9, 2014, the Caffè Florian in Venice hosts the "Jewels of art" German designer Annette Albrecht. The exhibition, curated by Stefano Stipitivich, offers items directly related to Venice; poetic and artistic creations that help to emphasize the uniqueness of the spaces of Venetian Coffee.
Centerpiece of the exhibition is a ring with a lion's head, a tribute and symbol of the history of the lagoon city, designed specifically for Florian. The winged lion is found in many places in Venice and has always been a unifying symbol of religion, commerce, defense, art and local culture. The exhibition also features sculpture jewels, necklaces-bracelets, chains for boots, amulets and "sculptures for the hands."
The work of Annette Albrecht, made ??to measure, combine the appearance and character of the wearer, helping you in customizing your look. For the artist, "A piece of jewelery is often a companion in times of great change. Most people come up to me at the beginning of a new phase of life, looking for a piece of custom jewelry and expressive. "Tourmaline in the color of the ocean, fresh-green peridot, aquamarine garnet red luminous and radiant, large colored gemstones, are a source of inspiration for the artistic work of the designer. Stilemi applicants are sacred and ornamental shapes, flowers, vines and figures of animals, which she translates into its modern-baroque style.
In his career Annette Albrecht started to arrive from sculpture to jewelry art. His works of the 90s, mostly figurative, clay and bronze, fascinated by their emotional intensity. Characteristic of that period are expressive faces, marked, body parts abstract shapes with expressions almost raw. Then, the artist transforms his works from sculptures in actual size to work more and more small and detailed objects and elaborate. The human body is always at the center of his artistic interest.
In reference to the work center of the exhibition, Stefano Stipitivich points out, "Annette Albrecht, with its precious lion, made expressly for this exhibition at the Florian, makes it an ideal tribute to that past memory, at that lion that identified the size of the dominant . The precious metals had, and still has, a very old tradition in Venice. The 'Oresi, zogielieri and diamanteri' had their own association called 'School of Oresi'. The oldest documents relating to the School of Oresi date back to 1231 and those contained in the will of a German merchant who bequeathed to the School part of its assets. Here is a thread that binds the rougeimmaginario beautiful jewels of Annette Albrecht and this 'orese' German who lived and worked in Venice, where even those who were 'foresto', ie foreign citizenship if he could have brought with them ancient knowledge related to his work ".
Marco Paolini, CEO of Caffè Florian, adds: "The Florian is, by almost three hundred years, a place where not only the taste of the good life but also the art itself are at home. For over thirty years his rooms welcome the work of sculptors, painters, masters of glass, photographers, architects and designers. Many of the works and installations have since found a permanent exhibition space in Florian's way Parione in Florence, a place where the new Italian culinary tradition is getting married to contemporary art. E 'therefore with pleasure that I welcome you to this German designer who with his works, exhibited in the halls frequented by Goethe and Wagner, pays tribute to the goldsmith tradition of an ancient civilization like that of Venice.
