"One morning in '61 at the Querini, when I asked him that high water would remain outside the palace ... he , looking me in the eye after a pause of waiting: inside, inside high water , as in all over the city. Giuseppe Mazzariol, director of the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice, recalled that the genesis of the office space redesigned by Carlo Scarpa from the beginning full of light contamination .
Scarpa gave a sign of old and new together, so full of energy precursor, that the momentum has not been exhausted.
As a budding architectural interventions have generated around Valeriano Pastor, Mario Botta and over time have inspired a fascinating comparison with other, diverse languages ?: photograph, video, music, dance.
In a sign of Carlo Scarpa says the report / contamination between the Venetian master and contemporary architects and artists who have interpreted in the time space in Carlo Scarpa Foundation: Margarita Andreu, Ivana Franke, Candida Höfer , Giulio Paolini, Michelangelo Pistoletto , Remo Salvadori and , by Haris last Epaminondas . But also the choreographer Sasha Waltz , the composer Atsuhiko Gondai with cellist Mario Brunello , the photographer Alessandra Chemollo and director Riccardo De Cal .
The exhibition will gather the testimonies symbolically next to the core of sketches and drawings belonging to Archive Foundation , documenting the conception phase of these same environments by the great architect : the fertility of the sign of Scarpa and the crafting creative in sign Scarpa.
Spark of many resonances is always Venice, border cultures. By will, in 1868, the vision of John the Fondazione Querini wanted , with the museum and the library , which is open to the movement of thought, with his eyes on the contemporary .
Of all this the architecture of the shoe to the poster Querini Stampalia are alive : the water is flowing in and the light passes freely.
The inauguration on June 4 , at 20, will be at the end of the Elements of architecture learned from past , present and future , he sees at the 14 . International Architecture Exhibition , the Fondazione Querini Stampalia host a conversation between the Bijoy Jain and international architects Kazuyo Sejima and curators Yuko Hasegawa and Chiara Bertola .
The meeting will explore the theme of the next Biennale , Fundamentals , suggesting a recovery of critical elements at the base of the architectural discipline . The aim is to outline a universal repertoire learned through the past and useful tool to orient the present and the future.
