From February to June 2014, Grassi Palace presents new video of artists from the Pinault Collection.
Ed Atkins was born in 1982 in London, UK, where he lives and works. And 'known for his videos that defy narrative conventions and often uses motion capture technology. It also creates a lot of transition from one subject to another.
Even Pricks is the culmination of a series of works on the theme of depression, both in the psychological sense both in the physical sense. The video combines text, images and dialogues fragmented and deformed. Atkins and create avatars misanthropic: humans and animals appear and disappear without ever finishing a speech. The animation sequences alternate with flashes of advertising and slogans invented, giving the impression of watching the screen of a user rapidly changing channel.
