The Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa renewed for the fifth consecutive year collaboration with Stonefly, the Italian company leader in the production of footwear with a high level of innovation.
During these years, the prize Stonefly Walk with the Arts has evolved by acquiring a greater maturity and carving, in view of the partnership between young artists and businesses, an increasingly distinctive and qualifying.
The knowledge of the dynamics of production and the activities that take place within the company - the testing of materials, the relationship between those who work there, the care in communication studies and product positioning - are an opportunity for artists to test their attitude and their own research.
To make all this concrete Stonefly has opened its doors to the curiosity of artists, calling on them to reconsider, from their point of view, the project Second Skin: the shoe result of a long search for technological soft, comfortable, lightweight, becomes for the foot a true "second skin".
The artists were asked to imagine following their own attitude and using the techniques most suitable to them might materialize as a second skin, translating and expanding the content of this innovative collection.
The 2014 edition features a step further: to give more space to the visionary and the deepening of research, Stonefly Award this year, in addition to being a premium purchase, also becomes a production bonus.
Thursday, October 30, the jury will meet in the home of the Galleria di Piazza San Marco to view and evaluate projects of twelve young artists and the winner of Stonefly Walk with the Arts in 2014.
The exhibition in fact involves the presentation of artists' projects in the form of documents, materials, models and images that can illustrate the process of design and eventual construction of the work. It is proto-works, heterogeneous moodboard, presentations of practical ideas and proven installations: materials that lie between the possible and the utopian for Another Second Skin.
Stonefly produce and purchase the work of the winning artist will be held in Milan at the beginning of year 2015.
Award to participate in the youth selected for the Atelier BLM 2014 (Joseph Abate & Paola Angelini, Anemoi, Marko Bjelan?evi?, Pamela Breda, Saverio Bonato, Samuel Cherubini, Graziano Meneghin & Jacopo Trabona, Perghem Fabrizio, Fabio Roncato, Catherine Erica Shanta, The Entrepreneurs Eleanor sovereigns), the residency program for artists of the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa.
