Venice and graphics.

Between 1955 and 1968 were held at the Venice Biennial of Engraving Italian Contemporary Art, curated by Giorgio Trentin. A cultural-reaching that he wanted to bring back the art of engraving on the top floor of the art, denying the function exclusively "reproductive" in which he had long been confined. In his seven editions were invited and documented more than fifty artists, including some of the most important masters of Italian 900.
The exhibition is divided into two separate events dedicated respectively to the editions from 1955 to 1961 and from 1963 to 1968, seeking to retrace the steps of a cultural adventure that saw Venice at the center of the debate Italian engraver latest, laying the foundations also of a important international comparison.
