The staircase leading to the temple is flanked by the allegories of Religion, to the right, and of Faith, to the left, made by Carrara-native sculptor Carlo Chelli. In particular, the statue of Faith lifting a goblet is famous because it allegedly points to the place where the Holy Grail is located.
