The statues of goddesses Isis, Sekhmet and of Ramesses II
Centro

The three sculptures were made by Vitaliano Donati in the temple of goddess Mut at Karnak (Thebes). Goddess Isis-Hathor (XVIII dynasty) is depicted with a solar disk between bovine horns, vengeful goddess Sekhmet (XVIII dynasty) with alion head, while Ramesses II, wearing the blue crown, sits on a throne with smaller-scale portraits of queen Nefertari and his son Amun-her-khepeshef by his side. This statue is the most famous portrait of the Pharaoh and it was especially appreciated and celebrated by French Egyptologist Jean François Champollion.
