Saint Dominic’s Glory

Saint Dominic’s Glory
Inside the chapel in the name of the saint made by Andrea Tirali (1690-1716), Piazzetta makes one of the most extraordinary views of Venetian XVIII-century art. Within a glory of clouds, the saint is lifted by angels towards the Trinity. At the bottom, a standing Dominican looks at us and points to the painting: it is the painter’s self-portrait.
