Holders of the ticket for the Clock Tower get free admission to the Museo Correr, the Museo Archeologico Nazionale and the Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana. - Transportation: Lines 1, 2, N (stop S. The tower was erected by Mauro Codussi (1496 - 1499) as a monumental gate to the city while its precious dial of gold and blue enamel used to mark life in the city with as much as phases of the moon and signs of the zodiac.
During the Adoration of the magi and Ascension day, from the upper storey the Magi statues emerge thanks to an outstanding mechanism, an engineering masterpiece, which enables them to kneel before the statue of the Virgin and go back in through the opposite door.
The terrace with the famous Moors completes the tower and offers a wonderful view of the city.
