The small and hidden courtyard by the wide Campo Manin is one of the most fascinating corners of Venice out to which the amazing spiral staircase of Palazzo Contarini overlooks. According to recent studies, it was built by architect Giorgio Spavento at the end of the XV century, winding up a cylindrical tower with a spiral pattern, bòvolo in Venetian, spaced by round arches on columns, also featured in the loggias dividing the levels.
