The beautiful Villa Margherita, on lungomare Gabriele D'Annunzio, was built between 1919 and 1920 by Bologna-native architect Mario Vucetich for nobleman Guido Alverà. Its imposing structure is surrounded by a large garden and is characterized by its XVIII-century style, with clear references to baroque style.
The window frames and stringcourses feature shell-shaped decorations, inspired by the Lido setting, while the wrought irons of the balconies and the gate are extraordinarily adorned. Before 1926 the villa was handed over to Count Gaetano Marzotto, textile industrialist of Valdagno, who named it after his wife Margherita. Upon his death, in 1927, it was sold by his heirs and turned into an apartment block.
