Oratory of the Crucifixion
San Polo
- Location: Oratory of the Crucifixion
- Date: 1747 - 1749
The decoration of the oratory, which was reached from the counter-facade, constitutes the first work by Giandomenico Tiepolo, son and student of Giambattista. The surprising realism that characterises the design of the fourteen stations on the Via Crucis and of the ceiling canvases clearly shows the distance he took from his father’s triumphal painting.
