DESCRIZIONE:
The building, commissioned by Giacomo Palmieri in the first half of the XIII century, owes its name to the period in which it was assigned to Turkish merchants as commercial building (1621-1838). Its current look is however linked to the radical restoration made between 1858 and 1869 by Federico Berchet. It is today the seat of the Natural History Museum which includes significant botanical and fossil collections including an over 7m tall dinosaur, the skeleton of Ouranosaurus nigeriensis and the skeleton of a giant 12m-long crocodile.
