DESCRIZIONE:
The main opera theatre of Venice was built in 1790-92 by Giannantonio Selva. Completely destroyed by a fire, it was re-built by the Meduna brothers in 1837 featuring a neo-classic facade with pronaos and lavish stucco decorations inside. On 29 January 1996 another devastating fire, this time an arson, destroyed the theatre. Drawing from the motto as it was where it was, it was rebuilt and re-opened to music in 2003.
