DESCRIZIONE:
This very central and elegant shopping street connects piazza Castello and piazza Carlo Felice and retraces the plan of the "contrada nuova", the new contrada opened in the 1600s instead of medieval blocks. Following the urban reorganisation of 1931-37 the only testimonies from the 1600s of the street remain piazza San Carlo and the two twin churches by Carlo di Castellamonte. The buildings built here, which were made in a XVIII-century style, are an interesting representation of late-eclectic and rationalistic architecture of the XX century.
