Marengo’s Treasure
It consists of a remarkable set of silver objects found in 1928 at Marengo in the province of Alessandria. It includes objects of different quality and use produced within a long time period; their grouping is probably due to the sack of a temple along via Fulvia. The items include a Bust of emperor Lucio Aurelio Vero, a Table with dedication to goddess Melior/Fortuna, a capital-shaped Goblet, a Band with ears of wheat, a Bed embellishment, a Foil portraying Heracles and Apollo, a female head, a Medallion portraying a male bust and a Krater with vegetable decorations.
