An itinerary that explores the fantasy of Luigi Serafini through drawings originals of the Codex Seraphinianus, a work unique in the history of art: an imaginary encyclopedia, atlas of impossible worlds-able that rewrites the boundary between art and writing go-faces. Will be on display the original drawings taken from the historic first edition of the Codex, dated 1981-and that the introduction of specially designed and written by the author for the new issue of 2013. Exhibition also features a new installation of Half tuna designed specifically for the Milanesiana by Luca Volpatti, a veritable explosion of it three-dimensional invention unmatched by Luigi Serafini.
Luigi Serafini (1949) has worked as an architect, ceramist, glazier, painter, sculptor, designer, opera director, stage designer, critic. He exhibited in Italy and abroad in solo and group exhibitions. In the mid-'90s was a visiting artist in Canada, the Banff Centre (Alberta) and the McLuhan Program (Toronto), directed by Derrick de Kerckhove. The PAC in Milan dedicated to him in 2007 a "Show ontological" of success. He has illustrated the works of Franz Kafka and Michael Ende. He is the author of the Codex Seraphinianus, published for the first time in 1981, a treasure trove of Borges invented alphabets and animals do not exist, entered the history of art book publishing. Of his work surreal and multifaceted have dealt with Roland Barthes, Achille Bonito Oliva, Italo Calvino, Federico Fellini, Douglas Hofstadter, Giorgio Manganelli, Leonardo Sciascia, Vittorio Sgarbi, Giorgio Soavi, Patrizia Valduga, Federico Zeri.
