From 20 to 28 September, a week of events, exhibitions and events for the Summit of European Ministers of Culture held in Turin on 23 and 24 September, the most authoritative recognition of the central role that culture has come assuming the identity and life of the city.
The role of capital - the first of the Savoy's dynasty, then of Italy - Turin allowed to accumulate over time a strong cultural tradition. Over the last fifteen years, however, something has happened more and again: Torino - for a century and industrial manufacturing city - has undergone a significant transformation of its identity. Without losing its industrial profile, the city has gradually come enriched with new vocations, all revolving around learning and knowledge and, thanks to the strong cultural investment, has also become an important tourist destination, which today welcomes the European Ministers and the many guests with numerous international events, exhibitions and demonstrations of the European Week of Culture.
