The Gallery Franco Noero presents From "La Voie Humide" for the first time in Italy, a solo show of the Brazilian artist in Italy, who will be present at the inauguration on November 5.
Organic forms and references to parts of the body are common elements such as drawings and sculptures on display in the gallery.
In the new three-dimensional works, specially designed for the occasion, the presence of various types of materials - iron, quartz, ceramic, resin, fossil wood, bronze, rubber, plaster, leather, pearls - create a dialogue between the quality 'intrinsic thereof, between softness and rigidity ', empty and full, invading the space of the narrative suggestions that refer to the concept of transformation in the making.
The materials and the forms they take - or translated into abstract objects more 'recognizable - bring with them' a strong symbolic value, producing subtle and surprising balance between the various elements. The ten drawings, created by drawing one continuous line of thin sheets of paper Himalayan draw on the vocabulary associated with the Surrealist automatism and mental body and can be regarded as a musical score that guides the sculptures.
As a result, the works on display are harmoniously tied together in a sort of time-space continuum that makes them part of a "congregation," to use the words of the artist. The body of work reflects the artist's interest in psychoanalysis - particularly the childhood phase that precedes the identification with one's own body in the mirror - and shows signs of a personal interpretation of the esoteric sciences, particularly of 'alchemy.
The "Way Wet" mentioned in the title and 'in fact a reference to' transform the material through the use of the senses and of fluids or organic, as opposed to the "dry way", that is the way of the intellect, which are subjects such as Science and Philosophy.
From Thursday November 5th to Sunday 9th starting at 9:30 am with breakfast until 7 pm; Saturday, November 8th at the Contemporary Arts Night opening until 24 pm.
