The artist Phil Akashi presents his work "Resistance" during OPEN 20. International Exhibition of Sculptures and Installations that takes place every year, in September, involving the city of Venice with the exhibition of works in the open air. This opportunity steams from the collaboration between Arte Laguna Prize and Arte Communications which has selected Phil Akashi as the winner of the Special Prize "Festivals and Exhibitions".
With the work "Resistance", installed on the Giudecca Island, in front of Hilton Molino Stucky, Phil Akashi’s artistic world is revealed: a travel journal among oriental history, ancient customs and social reflection.

Phil Akashi is Belgian artist who, in his expressive research, combines European academic training with a love of Oriental art and philosophy. His travels to Asia are characterised by expressive stages that coincide in a research based on balance between art and technical practice, which finds its main expression in the creation of seals produced on different supports.
