Tempietto
Trastevere, Gianicolo, Testaccio
One of the exemplary pieces of renaissance architecture in Rome. It has a circular layout, two levels, the first of which is made up of 18 ionic columns surmounted by a balaustra, above which is a tholobate with niches, all of which is topped by a dome. The cylindrical cella is marked by columns and within is a statue of Saint Peter and a beautiful cosmatesque style pavement.
