Designed and built by the architect Zaha Hadid, the Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo (The National Museum of Art of the 21st Century) came about as a foundation started by the Ministry of Culture, an ideal expansion of the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna for this century. The collection is divided into one section devoted to art and another devoted to architecture, containing works on commission, thematic contests, prizes for new generations of artists and donations.
