This is a sketch for two panels of a large alter piece for the Church of the Colegio de Doña María de Aragón in Madrid. The work was to be a series on the life of Christ. The two definitive works containing the same subjects as those at Palazzo Barberini are at the Prado and the National Museum of Bucarest. The two canvases were purchased by Italy in 1908.
