The Prophet Isaiah is a fresco located in Basilica di Sant'Agostino in Rome. It was realized by the Italian reinassance artist Raphael between 1511 and 1512.
Not all the visitors to the church, usually visiting to admire the work of Caravaggio, know of this tiny masterpiece by Raphael, placed on the third column on the lefthand side of the nave.
It was commissioned by the protonotary from Luxembourg Johan Goritz and the painter from Urbino depicted the prophet in a twisted pose worthy of the Sistine Chapel, which Michelangelo was painting during those very same years.
