This enormous model, which measures 200 square meters, reproduces the city of Rome at the time of Constantine (Fourth Century). It was started in 1933, building in scale (1:250) the historical center, to be exhibited in 1937 at the Mostra Augustea della Romanità. It was expanded in following years and with the innauguration of the museum in 1955 it reached its actual size.
