Venaria Reale
- Location: Interior
The decorations inside the palace were conceived by the court intellectual Emanuele Tesauro and based on the myth of the goddess Diana as a metaphor for civil living (1660-71). The halls and galleries are full of specially made stucco work, statues and paintings. Jan Miel painted a fresco of Jupiter making Diana the goddess of all hunts (1663) on the vaulted ceiling of the Hall of Honour, while the paintings and stucco work of the artists from Lombardy and Lugano Bernardino Quadri, Gian Battista Muttoni, Giovanni Antonio Recchi and Giacomo and Giovanni Andrea Casella can still be seen in the water and wild hunt rooms.
