Across a drawbridge you enter the medieval Village and Stronghold, built in 1884 as the ancient art section of the Italian General Exposition of Turin. Architect Alfredo D'Andrade, together with a panel of historians, engineers and artists, faithfully duplicated buildings, streets, squares, decorations and decors of the XV-century Piedmont and Aosta Valley area. Even in the garden plants used in the XV century are grown. The Stronghold and its halls (of Weapons, of the Brave and of Heroines, Chapel) and its staff rooms are perfectly duplicated, the inspiration being the Fénis Castle.
