Statue of Thutmose III
The sculpture is made up of numerous fragments pieced together and portrays the Pharaoh sitting with his hands on his knees. He wears the striped headgear nemes, the rearing cobra on his forehead and the shendit skirt with a zigzag belt and a central scroll bearing his name. The nine arches the sovereign crushes at his feet represent the nine enemy tribes of Egypt. In the throne inscription, Thutmose III is mentioned as the «King of two lands, loved by god Amun-Ra, a king who is given eternal life».
