Victoria Miro’s new gallery opened to the public on 10 May 2017 with an inaugural exhibition, Poolside Magic, by Chris Ofili.
he intimate gallery space is housed in a seventeenth-century building, in the former Galleria Il Capricorno, founded in 1970, and well-known in Venice for its periodical modern art exhibitions, that has hosted exhibitions of foreign artists at their first performance in Italy, such as Michael Cline, but also interesting events such as the Graffiti exhibition.
This quintessentially Venetian canalside location is in the heart of the San Marco district. Victoria Miro Venice features a year-round programme of exhibitions and provides further opportunities for artists to stage exhibitions and special projects in an intimate environment in the heart of Venice.
