DESCRIZIONE:
It was created at the request of Beatrice Merz (2005) to preserve and divulge the works of her father Mario Merz (1925-2003), one of the greatest artists working in Turin after the war. The seat is the former central heating plant of Officine Lancia, a large industrial space converted into an exhibit and temporary event centre, which supports and promotes contemporary art. The institute houses exhibits that also display works by other artists in conversation with the those made by the master the foundation is named after, theorising the museum as a place of constant exchanges, respectful of one of the artistic beliefs of Mario Merz himself.
