DESCRIZIONE:
This is the main place in Rome for admiring the works of the so-called Nazarene painters, who, in 1817, were called upon by the Marquis Carlo Massimo to fresco his country home at the Lateran. The three rooms are decorated with scenes based on the great names of italian literature: Dante, Petrarca, Ariosto and Tasso. The paintings are by Cornelius, Horny, Veit, Overbeck, Führich and Schnorr von Carolsfeld.
