DESCRIZIONE:
It was commissioned by the Grassi family, native of Chioggia, to Giorgio Massari who worked on it from 1748, building the last grand palace before the fall of the Republic of Venice (1797). After numerous transfers, in 1983 it was handed over to the Fiat group, which appointed the Milanese architect Gae Aulenti to restructure it and made it one of the most prestigious European exhibition centres. In 2005 it was finally bought by François Pinault who commissioned its restoration to the famous Japanese artist Tadao Ando. Currently it is the seat of temporary exhibitions.
