On December 3 at 5pm at the Archivio di Stato of Via Piave 21 in Turin will open the exhibition "Journey in the places of art." The exhibition will tell an unusual journey made in the studios of artists in the area of Turin, designed for those who want to learn about these workshops.
In the exhibition you will see 10 video-documentaries shot in as many studies inaccessible to people with disabilities; Here the artists (Luisa Albert, Laura Ambrosi, Maura Banfo, Silvia Beccaria, Alberto Castelli, Claudio Cravero, Matilde Domestico, Carlo Galfione, Carlo Gloria, Paolo Jins) tell the place where every day create their works, revealing what this represents and what is the intimate relationship that binds them to their creations and artistic practice.
To make the films accessible to all, these were translated into sign language (LIS) and subtitled. The journey continues with the exhibition of some sensory experiences made in six other places of art that, November 10 to 14, have opened their doors to people with disabilities by organizing different educational activities.
These workshops were then collected in video translated and subtitled in LIS. Stefano Giorgi urged participants to rework famous paintings then animating them with his magic room. On display will be able to see the acetates tempera paintings by participants (eight works), used for animation art, and the movie with the entire creative process to the product group.
Another movie will illustrate the theatrical performance, olfactory and tasting, proposed by Chiara Vallini and Cuochivolanti entitled "The ingredients of the art" in which participants were invited to take part in an impressive animated feast in which the ingredients chosen, become protagonists of a story, ended up in the pot combine inspiring stories of each different and original. The ten dry prints made during the workshop "Emotions relief" Piera Luisolo are the result of the workshop conducted by the artist in his studio tactile where participants have ventured into the manufacture of dies that they could express their emotions, feelings, joys and fears through the combination of different forms.
In addition to the prints will be exhibited also matrices that can be touched and then be viewed comfortably even by people who are blind. Always touch was dedicated laboratory Danila Ghigliano "Been and portray." The artist invited participants to linger on their traits and then play them in three dimensions. Small heads produced (twenty five) during this workshop will not only be seen in the exhibition, but also tap to investigate the shapes and different surfaces. The twelve representatives tempera different landscapes are what created during the workshop "Music hypnotic vision" led by Ernesto Morales in his studio. After a moment of meditation through listening to the music, the artist has invited participants to play two different landscapes: one known and realized in monochrome with the addition of white, the other imaginary and polychrome.
Another video tells the laboratory "Being landscape", conducted by Orietta Brombin to PAV Living Art Park. Through the vision and multisensory tasting of products grown in the grounds of the museum, each participant has become part of the landscape and was invited to transpose graphically their portion of nature. The drawings will be exhibited and reproduced in relief to make them more usable. Tangible sign of this project will be the creation of a tactile map of the underground hall that will host the exhibition and that will remain permanently in use at the State Archives to help blind people to orient themselves in space. Videos and captions of the works will use a font to-read and will be translated into braille.
