Built between 1933 and 1935 in an area destined for this purpose in 1925. It is considered one of the principal examples of fascist-era architecture and it involved, not only Marcello Piacentini, author of the overall project, but the most important architects of the rationalist current and of academia as well including Arnaldo Foschini and Gaetano Minnucci. Besides the buildings of the various faculties are the Cappella della Divina Sapienza (1950-51) with its eliptical layout and the Palazzo del Rettorato with its Aula Magna decorated with frescoes by Mario Sironi - Italia tra Arti e Scienze.
