Overlooking a small pedestrian area with a view on Piazza Vittorio Veneto and Gran Madre, this historic café – which used to be the favourite of writer Cesare Pavese – is very in demand not only for coffee and breakfast, but also for aperitif. During the weekends and on summer days, Caffè Elena is even more pleasant (and crowded) thanks to its outside tables. The café regulars also include music band Subsonica, whose studio is located nearby.
