Between the second half of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century micro-mosaic (or patchwork minutes), like the graphic arts, lithography, and in particular, becomes an irreplaceable vector in the spread of the most famous views sought by foreign travelers along the route the art of the Grand Tour was a rapid spread of micro-mosaics in Rome as in the second half of the eighteenth century mosaic of the study who had worked at the Vatican mosaic decoration of the Basilica of St. Peter were found free of occupation. They then glimpsed in the new technology - the potential of which in commercial terms were promptly seized from them - the possibility of further employment.
