The protagonist of the sixth edition of Mirror Project is Elena Mazzi. The artist proposes a reflection on the techniques and strategies of communication, its limitations and potential, focusing the emphasis on the possibility of error during the transmission of a message, an error which sometimes affects the unfolding of historical events, as was the case in At the first publication of The Medium is the Massage (M. McLuhan), when the author decided not to correct the typo, leaving open the interpretation of mass age, message and mess age.
What form did the revolution in today's society?
What we mean by revolution today?
Space barrier became a laboratory in which to host an open discussion on the subject of communication in times of revolution, through some historical and some more recent contributions, with the aim of creating a "vocabulary of the revolution." Strategies and methods of communication have evolved over time in line with the changes in society and, historically, revolutions are an example of how groups of people have had to self-organize - learning to communicate - effectively to succeed in the intended purpose. The exhibition opens Thursday, May 14 with a performance result of the reflections that the artist has developed together with a group of researchers, students and professors of the University of Turin during a workshop made the March 28 to 29 at the facilities of barrier. The project was created following the workshop that the artist has done in his time at the Museum of Villa Croce in Genoa with the collective Australian A Constructed World, investigating the notion of "community" and its dynamics. A Constructed World will intervene in the catalog in a conversation with Elena Mazzi.
