This prestigious XVII-century building was restructured by count Provana di Druent in 1692 following designs by Gian Giacomo Baroncelli, who made the facade, the atrium and the scissor staircase. Its more illustrious owners were marquise Carlo Tancredi di Barolo and his wife Juliette Colbert, who founded Opera Barolo for the care of the needy and opened here the first nursery school of Piedmont. In the museum you can visit the apartments of the marquise and his wife and their belongings, including the marriage contract signed by Napoleon and the clock that the emperor gave the bride and groom as a present.
