Cupola
San Polo
The frescoes in the cupola, rediscovered during the restoration work in 1993, were created in 1531 by Pordenone, who surrounded the sculpture of God the Father with a host of musical angels, seen as a precursor of the Baroque. Further down, between the windows, are the Doctors of the Church and the coat of arms of the benefactor, the Doge Andrea Gritti, whilst the Evangelists appear in the pendentives.
