DESCRIZIONE:
The work is signed in the bottom right-hand corner by the Livorno-native painter, whose portraits have always been characterized by such spontaneity that never considers academic rules, but is based on a quick and clean drawing and on the explosion of colour to highlight the setting, the expression and the mood of the character. The painting, from the Thompson collection, was donated to GAM by Comitato Torino '61 for the centenary of Italian unification.
