Vasilij Kandinsky

Peggy Guggenheim Collection

DESCRIZIONE:
This work was created when Kandinsky was already teaching at the Weimar Bauhaus, and is constructed with geometric and semicircular forms on a background of green and turquoise which, split down the vertical line, gives the painting its upward direction. The two shapes form the letter E, which is probably an allusion to the original title of the painting, Empor.
