Having received a positive reaction from the press and public at the last two Biennials, CYLAND back in Venice, at Ca 'Foscari Zattere, with a third exhibition of Russian art.
The exhibition "On My Way" includes works by contemporary artists realized by the members of the Circle of Arefiev and from the collection of the family Frants. The exhibition "On My Way" explores the infinite possibilities of life in the ordinary and the extraordinary, finding a respite from the daily routine in the art and beauty and in a constant struggle for survival.
Made by some of the most famous artists of St. Petersburg, the works on display using various media to explore the possibilities of subjective expression and suspended between dream and reality.
The eleven works on display generate new possibilities, both in real as imagination, expanding the space of art in the life of the observer and drawing the viewer into the life of art.
Until the fall of the USSR, Soviet artists was difficult to get in touch with their contemporaries in other countries. The artists of the Circle of Arefiev are no exception. In response, they have shaped their own culture and their own physical shelter - a creative zone in which flourished the individual artistic expression. On My Way in the work of the Circle of Arefiev reflect the story of an artistic unity in finding inner freedom despite the difficult external conditions - passing on a legacy from generation to generation. The works on display, from the collection of the family Frants, covering several periods of the Circle of Arefiev, revealing unity, continuity, passions, hopes and struggles between different generations.
The artists of the Circle of Arefiev display in On My Way are Alexandr Arefiev, Rodion Gudzenko, Valentin Gromov, Rikhard Vasmi and Sholom Shvartz.
