Maurizio Barberis. The Burning Sun. Murano Reloaded

La mostra prende spunto da una serie di immagini dedicate alle fornaci muranesi, enfatizzandone l’invisibile temperatura.

Un sole ardente brilla qui, un archetipico Kosmos fissato all’orizzonte da un rosso pianeta alchemico, che trae ispirazione dal Libro Rosso (Jung) e dall’ultimo in-felice autoritratto del Parmigianino.

Un immaginario integrato alla realtà dei luoghi grazie a una continua deformazione dello spazio, percepito come una stratificazione del Mundus Junghiano, e del tempo, vissuto attraverso una sincronicità di eventi, entrambi allusioni, spazio e tempo, a una poetica stratificazione dell’idea di labirinto, un luogo virtuale cui siamo introdotti dalla figura del Mito, il Minotauro, un Daimon Angelico, un ‘fil rouge’ che attraverso i labirinti dell’inconscio possa rendere testimonianza, empatica-mente, dei luoghi in cui agisce, da sempre, la figura del maestro muranese.
Venti immagini di grande formato, racchiuse da una serie di cornici handmade disegnate espressamente dall’autore e realizzate da CL Italia, storica azienda specializzata in lavori di alta ebanisteria.

Maurizio Barberis has been active in the world of art and art design since the 1980s, producing solo shows and installations
(including exhibitions at Dilmos Milano and Morat Institut in Friburg-D), and collaborations (including Galleria Nilufar in Milan).
He has also taken part as an author in two editions of the Milan Triennale, the art and design musuem in Milan, and for a long period he worked with Philippe Daveriofor the creation in Milan of a Superior School of the Applied Arts (Department of Culture of the City of Milan).
He has worked with the Murano Glass Museum and the Fortuny Museum in Venice, organizing many conferences and workshops, and designing the installation of the exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the death of Mariano Fortuny.
He has shown work in New York, in the 1980s, and recently (8 March – 19 May 2017) at the Italian Consulate.
Barberis has published photography books and an essay on Color Theory.
He won the prize for best photography at the Venice Architecture Biennale of 2012.
He has worked as photographer and artwork with the magazine Interni and AD France for many years.
