cfr.artecontemporanea for the inauguration of the Space A.Muse, has a small exhibition of works by three artists in dialogue with the works of photographers Mannavola Georgia and Andrea Ferrari, founder of Pepe photograph [2007], a study aimed primarily to architectural photography, still life, fashion, without losing a parallel ' interesting private production.
Among the works on display by way of the Romans emerged in the search for originality pairs of household objects: the impact of particular alienating effect produced by the juxtaposition of black and white, positive and negative.
To act as a counterpoint to these shots contemporaneissimi and / but very classic, three hypotheses on the photograph: the works of Biffaro Mauro, Paolo Leonardo, Erika Riehle.
"On" because photography is photography that works around the move: reworking it, supplementing, correcting, erasing almost even denying it.
Mauro Biffaro is present with perfumes and toys (1991) , a historical work ( a triptych ) , a period of particularly appreciated by critics. The author spoke of a great old photograph and reduplicated ( kids sitting on a step ) superimposing silhouettes of toys, iterated just as childish games . But nothing childish or pathetic : the speech is complex personal and collective identity , the interpretation of the image.
Paul Leonard, already in 2013, with some admiration, "whites" in our exposure time and spot stain remover ( in the crypt of Piazza Cavour) now offers its "red " works created by the superposition of a photo texture ( photo not always of author, taken here and there, even on the market stalls, to reflect that part at the end of the nineties on the theme of the poster advertising 'rotelliana' memory ) of a flaming red pigment. In the game the appropriation of the photographic image through painting.
Erika Riehle, a young artist ( born in 1983 ) , which already has to its credit major solo and group exhibitions , do not use the camera , and do not even use photos taken by others, but playing with painting tools (acrylic , graphite, pen ... ) especially urban reality by adopting a purely photographic cut , suitable for low intimacy of the subjects ( peripheral areas , inner anonymous ) from which the strong suggestion of his works , in dialogue with the absence or estrangement : in which predominates the eminently " photo " b / w .
