Three days dedicated to independent design. A sales-exhibition and a rich program of meetings, debates and workshops. But also, a way for getting Italian and International designers in touch with people working in the field, companies, distributors and shops.
As it reaches its fifth edition, Operæ has become a key appointment in the Italian design agenda. A real performing stage for young designers and new talents, as well as for well-known designers. Each year Operæ offers the chance to delve into contemporary design trends, to look closely at manufactured products of the third millennium, and search for the links between design, new production processes, society and business.
During Operæ, you may meet with design studios, handicraft designers, makers, design editors and digital designers as well as buy products that are made in small series or in limited edition, studied in detail and carefully handled during each phase of the production chain, from the idea, output and consequent distribution. Behind each object and collection there is a story to be discovered together with the protagonists.
This year a whole area will be dedicated to kid design: toys, furnishings and specific objects for childhood together with a rich set of events and workshops dedicated to kids.
A special attention will be once again paid to the International experiences thanks to the participation of numerous designers and design studios that enrich the exhibition with traditional and innovative local design which features are often peculiar and distinctive.
Operæ was conceived and developed as a platform where to meet, share, exchange and grow. A place where to discover, each year, a new point of view on design and generate new opportunities for meeting, doing business, analyzing and comparing topics such as design and independent design.
